Bernadette has lived and worked in the United Kingdom since 2004, in Sussex and more recently in Suffolk. She learned Transcendental Meditation in 1978 and has practised TM and its advanced programmes ever since. She became a teacher in spring 2023, thereby fulfilling a lifelong dream to offer Transcendental Meditation to as many people as possible. She is a medical doctor and psychiatrist (MD, PhD) and, in addition to teaching TM, works three days a week as a child psychiatrist within the NHS.
