Frequently asked questions

Your annual household income is the combined gross incomes (before taxes and expenses) of all members of your household. We won't ask you for evidence of your household income, we rely on your integrity.

You can pay in full via credit card, PayPal, Google Pay, Apple Pay, or Shop Pay. You can also pay in installments via Shop Pay or Affirm. Please note that paying installments can incur interest in addition to the course fee, depending on the installment plan chosen.

To qualify as a full-time student, an undergraduate student must be taking a minimum of 12 credits per semester. A graduate student must be taking a minimum of 9 credits per semester. All students in high school or under are eligible for the student rate.

People receiving federal assistance can request a partial scholarship. Examples of federal assistance include low-income aid programs such as Medicaid, welfare (TANF), food stamps (SNAP), disability benefits, etc.

Others with low income may also apply for a partial grant.

We offer partial scholarships to deserving individuals in need. 

Hybrid and in-person courses both include a one-on-one personalized instruction session. They also include follow-up sessions that take place in person, online, or a combination of these options, according to your preference. Whether you opt for a hybrid or in-person TM course, you will be guided throughout your course by a certified TM teacher. After your course, you will also benefit from ongoing support from your teacher, or any TM teacher across the U.S. Both courses also include access to the TM app, which comes with a TM timer, a library of knowledge, and access to group meditations.

The Transcendental Meditation technique is available in the USA through Maharishi Foundation USA, a federally recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. All revenues from course fees go entirely to support the organization’s educational and charitable initiatives in the U.S. and around the world. Over the past several years, full TM scholarships have been given to more than one million at-risk students, military veterans and others in need through partnerships with other non-profit organizations and foundations. Find a teacher

To ensure the success of each student, TM is taught exclusively by certified teachers. Your teacher will guide you through your entire TM course and will continue to be available for ongoing support.

Book a TM course

Most of the TM course takes place according to your preference: either in person or remotely. The first session, however, is always held in person, at a local TM Center or teaching space. The TM course is offered in 170+ locations in the U.S., including most major cities.

Taught by a non-profit

For over 60 years, the Maharishi Foundation has made Transcendental Meditation available worldwide, training teachers who have brought the practice to millions of people. It has also been involved in many charitable initiatives, including providing free meditation instruction to under-served communities and supporting the establishment of TM Centers in developing countries.
